you don't get to judge unless you do my job

there's two people that can tell me i do a good job. me, and the collective individual known as the customers. if they're dancing and having a good time - i'm doin something right. if they're leaving, if they're just sitting there drinking, if they're yelling at me because the music isnt what they like, then i need to do something else with the music while still keeping to the club's format.
i understand when it's slow, and i understand during those times of the month when they arent going to come out. but everytime someone higher than my paygrade gets a compliment or comment about the music from people that DO NOT spend enough time or money in the bar to make a difference, wants to say "good job" i get really nervous.

good job means people stay in the club and have a party. not leave in groups because they dont like whats playing and are not going to wait for it to change.

stick to what you're supposed to do - glad hand the customers, ride herd on the waitstaff and try to keep them sober and your idiot floormen who are too busy chasing tail and joking around with their friends to pay attention and do their damn jobs.
