and how was your christmas kiddies?

ours was kinda blah. but for some reason or other people came out to party and have a good time on sunday. some had too good a time and some had such a good time they got punched. wheee!
now on wednesday night, someone flipped a switch and said - lets get everyone out to the club tonight and party. we had a pretty good wet t-shirt contest, a decent turn-out for the pool tourney, and i played a dance set that big daddy would have liked.. (i hope. miss you bro!) good grief charley brown. i feel kinda drained after tonight. it was that good. oh well.. there's always thursday. i could use the rest.

and oh yeah, new years eve - BRING A HELMET!

Christmas week in the bar business - blah!
Wednesday - not great.. not bad. not enough for the wet t-shirt contest, but enough for the pool tourny. was an okay crowd for the most part.
Thursday - what?.. people?.. how do i handle this?
Friday - Christmas Eve. looked like a recent thursday night. and here's a question.. why would you want to get thrown out of a bar on Christmas eve? JACKASS! oh well, we closed early enough to get the presents out.

NOW WHAT?

This has been an incredible week... Last week wednesday, right after the wet t-shirt contest, my partner in crime quit. there was a dis-agreement between him and the management / owners, and he had just had enough and quit.

So now what?

i don't know, but now i have to take up the load and carry on with the job. i would love to sit her all day and discuss it, but without putting things in her that would end up with me getting sued, i really cant go into details.

thursday - SSDD
friday - good night, good crowd, maybe another dj coming in, but he's not sure yet, and people dancing til 3am
saturday - not as busy as we thought it was going to be but busy enough. not exactly a well behaved crowd, but we got it taken care of.
sunday - welcome to the jukebox... cause thats what it felt like... except for the quarters being stuck in my ass. i could have come out ahead if they had...

we'll see how this week goes. cross your fingers.

bad day... bad night.

sunday was a joke. we wont go there. even though it had its moments.

wednesday - start the day off with some personal stuff that just sucks the life out of you, then go to work and deal with a bunch of non-dancing, non-tipping, but drinking like fish customers. follow that up with cranky employees, one of whom quit (AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS...), and then lets all have headaches and oh yeah, just for giggles lets have a toothache. remember all those times when you said that being a dj was cool and a lot of fun? BITE ME!

why cant we all just get along? cause we dont want to i guess.

i need a vacation. anyone want to loan me an island in the south pacific? say for about 2-3 months? all expenses paid?

all it takes is one night

just one night to make up for the headache that was the last few days at work. nice crowd, kinda odd and they didnt know how to listen, but mostly a nice crowd. and ya know... headache and all i kinda had a good time last night. i miss that. maybe we can work on it again.

christmas music... do we really have to play it or can we play scrooge?

saturday. started slow and then it was naptime under the counter for mr. sleepy until 1145. "daddy, its your wake up call" lots of fun after that and a really late crowd that was thinkin bout gettin some after they left... last 3 songs of the night - Bump n Grind, Let's Get It On, Purple Rain. why?.. cause i can. thats why.

sunday. kinda like thursday. but with less people.

time to start thinkin bout playing xmas music. bah humbug.

and so the weekend is upon us again

this job is not really that demanding. the hell it aint. just look up all those studies that link mental stress and creativity with physical reactions. might be why i've had a headache for the last 2 days. (and no - its not a migraine. i know the difference) kinda slow for a friday but thats to be expected in december - tis the season to got shopping, blah blah blah. just have to hope they remember to de-stress at the club after shopping. other than that a normal friday night.

if i seem a little distracted...

wednesday - must be the "other" holiday season. you know the one, where everyone is broke. slower than normal on a wednesday, but still managed to have tourny and wet t-shirt contest.

thursday - also known as "like i need another reason to lock and load" night. we may never talk about thursdays again. yeah. it was that bad.
