BAH HUMBUG!

nobody even wished me a happy kwanzaa. oh well.. will just have to settle for xmas greetings.

gonna be realy glad when this holiday slow down is over. heard alot of people are having a hard time this year compared to last - credit cards maxed out from paying for gas when it hit $3.oo a gallon. glad i have a gas sipper.

wednesday was about what you'd expect: pool, wet t-shirt, people off for the holidays, and nice new talent for the wet t-shirt contest cause we bumped up the prize money.

thursday must have been the start of the weekend for alot of ft. hood. we had a much better crowd than what i thought it was going to have been, and a really surprising number of people in the building at 2. could have stayed open til 3. probably should have.

friday... nothing to write home about. especially at midnite (more on that later).

saturday - christmas eve - slowest saturday we've had in a long time. people heading out for last minute shopping, last minute travel, and being broke... but we were still open til 2:30. SOME of us didnt wrap presents, so we gave the employees a half hour off early... then managed to take forever to clean the bar..

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!!! slow start to it, but once it got goin... nice!

so coming up next weekend is the new years eve thing. i'm gonna need to eat my wheaties...
and yell at someone who is just not following the learning curve. being good at what you do has nothing to do with having an ego. if you're not filling the floor when we're playing a power set, then you're just not doing your job. two weeks in a row. only saving grace friday was that they was DRUNK and would dance to pretty much anything. never mix a set, and dont look up at the floor - if you cant look up and gauge the building and SEE that they aint having a good time, then dont bother playing music in a place where it matters the most.

putting soap box away now.

HAPPY HANGOVERS EVERYONE!

competition is good for you (us anyway)

interesting weekend?. mostly.

actually the entire week was kinda weird. we've had the start of the xmas slow-down and people spending all their money on other stuff besides us, a new club opening, and really COLD weather, and a few other odds and ends happening. we never close - but we did last wednesday cause the weather was so bad. thursday was actually kind of enjoyable. friday was just plain odd - we couldnt tell that a new club had opened except for people coming over and complaining about it. saturday was much busier than expected. and then there was sunday...blah.. and blah again.

******

so a week later we're having fun with the xmas slowdown - everyone broke and not going out as much because they're buying christmas presents. oh joy. still, we've had some pretty decent nights, so not too many complaints. the rest of the b.s. thats going on is all internal, but we're working on it.

maybe i'll get my shit together and post more often. hope so anyway.

saturday was about what you'd expect, sunday had cheaper bar drinks finally - 1.00. but hardly anyone dancing, and wednesday.. well.

CLOSED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER. its nasty outside and i'm crawling back into a blanket.

screwed

yep. thats what they are.

thanksgiving weekend was typical for us except for saturday. not as big crowd with big concert going on at expo center - some guy called Pat "the sellout" Green. still had a good sized crowd tho. sunday was still sunday.

so wednesday we got a little confused. there i was thinking i was having fun at work again. was just gas. not really gas.. just someone staying home sick. still, we had a decent enough pool tourny and wet t- shirt. one minor scuffle and that was it.
thursday - i may never play another new song in the club again. IF YOU'RE GONNA ASK ME TO PLAY DIFFERENT MUSIC AND NEW MUSIC THEN GET YOUR ASS OUT ON THE FLOOR AND DANCE TO IT.

who me?.. bitter? noooo

and the compassionate employee award goes to BRIAN.

new club is supposed to open tonight cross town. aint gonna hold my breath about what happens. mostly past caring about it one way or another.
