you'll have to excuse me while i laugh like a maniac. the last two nights were that good. the crowd behaved themselves, had fun, danced all night, and just plain made me feel good. call me a parasite - but i live off of their energy in a feedback loop. if i feel it, i feel it, then they feel it... and so on.
friday - they started dancing early and STAYED on the dance floor. packed floor for country and dance is a GOOD thing. had a little break during the night, when someone came up to the booth and gave us a nice little flashback and mixed it up for the set. the rest of the night was the same until 3am. lots of people in a mood to dance, and they sure did. closed the night out with some mickey gilley (stand by me). i went home thinking saturday night wouldnt be as good as friday... i was wrong.
saturday - well, i have a back-up in the booth now. we'll see how he does after a couple weeks. really gonna have to work on his voice first and foremost. so the night started out typical saturday slow, people coming in all through the night. first dance set was okay but no big deal.. but they seemed to like it. played lots of country that i guess they were in the mood for, because i hadnt seen that many people dance to it like that in awhile. second set rolled around, and wow but i got caught short on time - didnt play as much as i had wanted to, but did have alot of people on the floor dancin. after the dance set was over, i started gettin that twitchy feeling that they were gonna start at least one fight tonight. i guess i kept them distracted enough not to. last set of the night was.. um.. whats the word i'm looking for... oh yeah: DAAAAMN.... hehehehehehe
and now a quick reminder - drunk driving is gonna happen no matter how much we try to prevent it. BUT DO YOU FREAKIN THINK YOU CAN REMEMBER THAT YOU MIGHT NOT BE THE ONE TO GET HURT? we had yet another person get hit crossing the street. so far as i know at this time she's still alive... but after seeing the windshield of the car that hit her, i wouldnt be surprised if she wasnt. and yeah, the driver left in handcuffs.
sunday better be a good chill night. i need the break, for real.
